Storage and Organization in Your Closet and Pantry

This article will discuss how to utilize storage and organization in your closet and pantry.

Overview of Storage and Organization

Since we are spending a lot of time at home these days, now is the perfect time to start organizing. There are many benefits to having an organized home, but the main one is to take stress off of your everyday life. Here are some storage and organization tips from our designers.

Closet

The first step to organizing any closet is to purge. Most of us have a hard time parting ways with our things. If you haven’t worn the item in over two years- it’s time to let it go. This frees up space for new items and or more space for what you already have. Next, maximizing your space is extremely important. No matter the size of your closet, you can easily make it an organized and effective space. Utilizing wall/door space for handbags and scarves frees up shelf space for shoes and accessories. Using storage and organization tools like bins and boxes are simple ways to make the most out of your space.

Pantry

Pantries can become very chaotic if not kept up with. The first step to create an organized pantry is by removing everything. Group together like items. For example, group baking items together. After you have created categorized groups, it is time to go container shopping. Utilizing storage and organization tools like containers and baskets will ensure that you have a place for everything in your pantry.  We suggest placing glass containers on the higher shelves. That way, snacks and perishable items can be placed on lower shelves.

Final Thoughts: Storage and Organization

In conclusion, using storage and organizational tools in your home will help you maximize space and save you a lot of stress. These tips will also help you save time and money. Items in your closet and pantry will be easy to locate. In addition, you will never purchase extra of something on accident because you will know exactly what you have. Building a luxury custom home requires more than strong ideas in separate phases. It requires architecture, interior design, and construction to work together from the beginning. In high end residential interior design, every decision affects another, which is why a more collaborative process often leads to a better final result. A ceiling detail can influence lighting. Cabinetry design can affect framing and electrical planning. Material selections can impact installation, timelines, and architectural detailing. When these disciplines are aligned early, the home feels more cohesive, more intentional, and more fully resolved. At Fratantoni, our in house teams at Fratantoni Design , Fratantoni Interior Designers, and Fratantoni Luxury Estates work together to create luxury homes that are thoughtfully developed from concept to completion.

Building a custom home is one of the most exciting opportunities a homeowner can experience. It is a chance to create a residence that reflects your lifestyle, aesthetic, and long term vision in a way that feels deeply personal. For luxury homeowners, that process should be intentional from the very beginning. Every room, finish, architectural detail, and functional feature should work together to create a home that feels cohesive, elevated, and entirely custom. One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make when building a new home is waiting too long to involve an interior designer. Many people assume interior design begins after the floor plan is complete or once construction has already started. In reality, the most successful luxury homes begin with interior design much earlier in the process.
